General Cigar Co., one of the world's largest premium cigarmakers, announced a major expansion of several of its brands.
The Macanudo brand, one of the best-selling cigar brands in America, is getting a 5-inch-long, 42-ring cigar to its Macanudo Gold line extension. In May, the company added a tubed robusto to the Macanudo Maduro line called Crystal. Partagas Black Label, one of General's more powerful cigars, now has a corona that measures 5 inches by 45 ring, and the Partagas Spanish Rosado line added a fat cigar called the Gigante. For lovers of small cigars, General is debuting Cohiba Black Pequeños.
General has several production facilities, but it makes the new cigars at General Cigar Dominicana, a huge factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
