Colibri Tailgater Lighter

Posted: Monday, February 05, 2007

By Michael Moretti

It's never too early to start thinking about tailgating for the next football season. First, get into survival mode: it's three hours before the start of the opening game, and you're dropped outside the walls of your favorite team's stadium with nothing but a super-fan outfit, a premium cigar, a six-pack of bottled beer and a choice of one other implement. You might go with the Colibri Tailgater lighter, which combines a bottle opener with a wind-resistant Colibri Quantum flame lighter.

The bottle opener folds into the body of the lighter, which is equipped with a locking, spring-loaded cap and push-button ignition. The lighter also comes equipped with a mirror in the underside of the lid, so you can tell when the foot of your smoke is properly lit, and a lanyard that will secure the lighter to your person, guarding against the threat of loss involved in moments of intense celebration. Sure, the portable grill, the trunk-mounted flat-screen and the King Kong-sized inflatable linebacker are all nice extras, but when push comes to shove, you need beer, cigars and the means by which to consume them.

The Tailgater lighter is available in black, red lacquer, blue lacquer and silver. It has a suggested retail price of $29.95. For more information, go to www.colibri.com.
