Xikar Executive Lighters

Posted: Friday, July 01, 2005

By Michael Moretti

Xikar leaps back into the world of fire with its new Executive lighter.

The Executive adopts a familiar, comfortable construction with a look, feel and functionality that is indicative of the brand. The sleek, rounded lines and metallic trim give the steel-cased lighter a contemporary appearance. The trigger located on the side of the body and the sliding door over a turbo flame portal provide safety and practicality by preventing burns and day-to-day wear and tear -- reminiscent of traits seen in the S.T. Dupont X-tend and the Prometheus Ultimo. An oversized flame-adjustment wheel on the bottom can be easily dialed up and down by hand.

Perhaps one of the best things about the lighter is the suggested retail price of $30, which is about a third of what other companies charge for turbo lighters. The Executive also comes with a lifetime guarantee.

This is only the second lighter Xikar has ever produced. The company is known primarily for its Xi cigar cutter and line of knives. However, this year the company has sought to expand it business with a broader range of accessories, which in addition to lighters includes the Envoy line featuring leather-bound cigar cases.

The Executive comes in black, silver, gunmetal, blue and red and is available at retailers worldwide. For more information, call Xikar at 1-888-266-1193.
