The seaside city of sin welcomed more than 3,000 cigar devotees this month for the second annual Atlantic City Big Smoke held at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. This year, the celebration of spirits and smoke could not be contained in a single evening and was expanded into a two-night affair.
Aficionados from around the country descended on the New Jersey resort town for the event and took over the casino's 30,000-square-foot ballroom for the weekend. Music boomed in the cavernous space illuminated underneath 30-foot ceilings where 35 companies set up shop. Dancers gyrated to the music, silhouetted behind neon screens, as guests treated themselves to some of the best in cigars, booze, cuisine, accessories, transportation and entertainment.
Here are some of the sights, and if you get close enough, you may be able to absorb some of the sounds, smells and tastes. If you were there, they will trigger happy memories, but for those of you who could not attend, they will give a hint of what life is like at the Big Smoke.
