Put on your best poker face and head over to the smoke shop.
Punch Poker Nights are in full swing. Forty poker events are scheduled through November 30, and at press time, six had already taken place.
Free poker tournaments will take place at participating tobacconists. Participants will be bankrolled with $800 in chips, then play one round comprising three poker deals of five-card draw. After three hands, the player with the most money becomes a finalist and will play other round winners from the same event at the end of the night. All finalists win a box of 10 Punch Pitas and a pack of Punch playing cards. (No, winners can't cash in their chips.)
The championship round will consist of the finalists playing five hands. The winner will take home a customized Punch wooden poker chip case, with chips imprinted with the Punch logo, playing cards and a box of 25 Punch cigars.
The Punch Poker Night tour has recently stopped in such places as Westminster, Colorado; Albany, New York; and Williamsville, New York. Plenty of chances remain to lay your chips on the table and show 'em -- 34 chances to be exact. The Punch Poker event rolls into Prestige Cigar in Orlando, Florida, on September 5, then moves on to C Gar's II in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, on September 18.
