Perdomo cigars are headed east. The Far East. Miami-based Tabacalera Perdomo has reached an agreement with Hathor Investment Group Ltd. to create Perdomo Cigars Asia, which will distribute the company's Nicaraguan-made cigars throughout the region.

The headquarters for the new company will be in Singapore, where Hathor Investment is based. A privately held investment, management and trading company, Hathor has established overseas companies in the region for 12 years. In addition to Singapore, the company will also have distribution centers in Tokyo, Bangkok and Shanghai.

"We are excited to be part of Perdomo's global strategy," said Lim Sut Wai, managing partner for Perdomo Cigars Asia, in a press release. "Perdomo's reputation as a premium cigar will go far in this market."

Cigar smokers in the region should begin seeing Perdomo cigars by January 2003. The entire catalog of Perdomo cigars will be available, including the Perdomo Estate Seleccion, La Tradicion Cabinet Series and Cuban Parejo.
