What were those pesky counterfeiters thinking when they printed this fake band? First and foremost, the essential "COHIBA" tablet has been substituted with the facial logo that can be found printed on genuine Cuban Cohiba boxes. It's a quality stamped reproduction of the design, but completely amiss. The facial logo on this band is gold and embossed, yet on genuine Cohiba boxes, the illustration is always black. The counterfeiters who produced this imitation band score points for creativity, though.
Besides the glaring logo error, the typical mistakes associated with other fake Cohibas abound. The four rows of white dots on the black background should be larger white squares and all should be in closer proximity to each other. Also, the block-font words "Republica Dominicana" should actually be the scripted words "La Habana, Cuba." This error leads us to believe that the counterfeiters were attempting to pawn off this fraudulent cigar as a Dominican Cohiba. As you can see from the illustration below, authentic Dominican Cohiba bands are markedly different from Cuban Cohiba bands (or counterfeit Cuban Cohiba bands, for that matter).
