The maker of La Flor Dominicana cigars says his favorite size is the slim lancero. "The size, the thickness, I like the way it smokes and the amount of smoke it gives me, and I like the bigger percentage of flavor you get from the wrapper," he says. Gomez's customers aren't as enamored with the size as he is. "We don't do a lot of lanceros—60,000 to 80,000 a year," he says. "The size, although it seems to be getting more attention from the true cigar smokers, is not there yet."
